Funding Critical Biodiesel Sustainability Research

The Clean Fuels Foundation actively sources grant opportunities to help fund research and infrastructure projects for biodiesel, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel. The Foundation collaborates with partners on outreach efforts that showcase clean fuels while educating fleets and the general public about air quality and the benefits of low-carbon solutions.

Sustainability

The Foundation hosts an annual Sustainability Workshop focusing on technical issues associated with sustainability and land use change (LUC) as they relate to the production of clean fuels. The workshop has been integral in determining the Foundation’s funding and research priorities. The next event is scheduled for April 27-29, 2025, in Kansas City, MO.

Market Development & Economic Research

The Foundation supports projects that raise awareness of biodiesel and renewable diesel performance, economic benefits and sustainability. Currently, the Foundation has been awarded three grants for the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) Clean Diesel Program. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) offers funding for projects that reduce diesel emissions from existing engines.
